First Aid for Opioid Overdoses Online Training
This online course will provide you with the knowledge and confidence you need to respond to a suspected opioid overdose emergency. This online learning course was created by the American Red Cross and includes audio and video guidance. Class is approximately 45 minutes in length.
Topics included:
- Identifying signs and symptoms of suspected opioid overdose
- Providing appropriate care based on responsiveness of victim
- Using several types of naloxone products such as Narcan and a nasal atomizer
Ideal for individuals such as
- Those who work in public spaces
- Volunteers, responders, staff working in clinics or other settings
- Managers and security personnel
This course does not meet OSHA requirements and does not fulfill BLS requirements.
What to Expect
- Registration: After purchasing, you will need to input the information for the student(s) intended to take the class. You will do this either via your order confirmation screen or the registration email.
- Learning: Approximately 15 minutes after inputting student information, the student will receive an email with a link to begin the class. Progress is saved as you go along. Be sure to reference the requirements below for optimal learning experience.
- Certificate: Once the student completes the learning and passes the class, a certificate of completion is issued. This will be emailed to the student approximately 4 hours after completion.
